Today I made bite sized balls (ha ha…) These are perfect for snacking and are so quick to make- they will replace your crappy store bought granola bars.
1 cup of rolled oats
1/4 cup cacao powder
1/4 cup chia seeds
2 tablespoons of honey
2 tablespoons of peanut butter (or any kind of nut butter- i prefer peanut)
3 tablespoons unsweetened apple sauce (optional)
DIRECTIONS: Combine ingredients in bowl and stir. Once mixed together form the mixture into small balls (if you are finding this hard you can put the mixture in the fridge for a bit first). Then, put balls in fridge for 10 minutes to set.
NOTE: you can add pretty much ANYTHING to these. You could add pumpkin seeds, almond butter, cashew butter,coconut shavings, raisins, nuts…the possibilities are really endless! I just came up with the recipe after reading a bunch online and made a variation based on what I had available.
